SUMMARY:Chalk Art Contest
DESCRIPTION:The Fine Arts Center's annual local Chalk Art contest is ON thanks to the county commissioners who have agreed to let us take over the parking lot just south of the courthouse on Saturday Morning May 23\, Consignology who has pledged a great start on prize money\, and Lisa Wyatt who has helped to organize the event for us. This will be billed as a drive through activity for the community and we ask people to help us keep it safe by following the recommended Covid -19 precautions with us. We will have greeters directing traffic flow on the site from 11 am to 4 pm. We also still have room for a few more artists and a few more sponsors. The chalking will start by 8 am with artwork to be ready to be judged by 12 noon. \n\nCelebrating the memorial weekend\, art work should be themed to recognize American artists\, local landmarks\, or have a patriotic theme. Art pieces will be at least 4 by 6 foot in size. There is a registration fee of $20 for artists who also need to submit a sketch or picture of what they hope to portray when registering. They will receive a box of colored chalk to help them with their endeavor and will be eligible for prize money up to $150. We are excited to have a few local artist and enthusiastic chalk art groups interested in getting out and joining us. We look forward to a fun and inspiring outcome. For more information and/or to be a part of this endeavor\, see our website at www.bcfineartscenter.org or call the Fine Arts Center at 435-723-0740.
