SUMMARY:Gandy Dancers at the Fine Arts Center
DESCRIPTION:GANDY DANCERS: Come enjoy this musical that was written in 1969 to celebrate the Golden Spike Centennial as we bring it back to the stage to celebrate the Golden Spike Sesquicentennial. \n\nWritten by Drauca Holmes and Lucille Lawson fifty years ago\, the show features a multiage cast of 25 who relive the life and challenges of Brigham City folks in 1869 and highlight the changes brought on by the railroad. Fictional characters parallel real life history\, at times humorous and at times heart rending. The show was a hit in 1969 and 1979 and is just under 2 hours long. Please note some colorful language reflects the culture clash between the railroaders\, the people that came with them\, and the quiet Mormon community of Brigham City. \n\nOn stage at the Fine Arts Center on Thursday\, Friday\, Saturday\, June 6\, 7\, 8\, and Monday June 10 at 7:30 p.m.\, with a Saturday June 8th matinee at 2 p.m. \n\nTickets are $6 for adults\, $5 students\, and available on-line at bcfineartscenter.org.\nSponsored in part of the Spike 150 program and Box Elder County Tourism.
