Come hear from Owen LaReaux who is a Database Specialist with Bridgerland Technical College. He received his Bachelors Degree in Mathematical Statistics and Probability from the University of Utah. He is working at Bridgeland Technical College as a database specialist where he works as a combination of a data engineer and data analyst. This includes data automation, database maintenance, and data integrity, as well as reporting, visualizing data sets, and providing metrics. He has been vigorously hunting down manual processes and automating them to save employees hundreds of hours worth of manual work. During his time at the University of Utah, he led a team of three to develop an AI model that determined which schools across the U.S were the most cost effective for undergraduates using various classification theories such as Clustering, KNN, and DBSCAN. He is a firm believer that AI is an important technology that can greatly benefit our lives and will be a vital part in how the future is shaped.
