National Public Lands Day Bioblitz Plant Survey
Learn more about identifying local plants while volunteering at Golden Spike for national public lands day! National public lands day is the biggest single-day volunteer event for public lands. You can be a part of it by participating in this volunteer event Volunteers will be able to: - become part of the VIP (volunteers in parks) community - contribute to our parks understanding of the distribution of invasive and native species - become a citizen scientist - Get a Fee-Free Day coupon for a single day's entry at any participating federal land management agencies! Think of National Parks, Wildlife refuges, and more. Coupons are provided courtesy of the National Environmental Education Foundation. Please note that these are only available to the first 40 volunteers This event requires a bit of commitment — volunteers will need to register online at volunteer.gov (https://www.volunteer.gov/s/volunteer-opportunity/a09SJ00000EDruTYAT/national-public-lands-day-bioblitz-plant-survey) and plan on being at the park from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Volunteers will get a training on plant identification and safe off-trail survey practices from our professionals here at the park. Volunteers should be ready to follow all of our safety protocols: long pants, close toed shoes, long sleaves, sun protection, and more. We'll provide more information once volunteers are signed up
