National Public Lands Day Birding BioBlitz
Try out your birding skills while volunteering at Golden Spike for national public lands day! National public lands day is the biggest single-day volunteer event for public lands. You can be a part of it by participating in this volunteer event Birders will be able to: - become part of the VIP (volunteers in parks) community - contribute to our parks understanding of the distribution of invasive and native species - become a citizen scientist - Get a Fee-Free Day coupon for a single day's entry at any participating federal land management agencies! Think of National Parks, Wildlife refuges, and more. Coupons are provided courtesy of the National Environmental Education Foundation. Please note that these are only available to the first 40 volunteers this event is great for volunteers of all ages or even family groups. this is a drop in event — we'll be hosting it all day, and you can show up anytime between 9-5. Go birding somewhere in the park and let us know what you see! Plan on taking 20 minutes to an hour The park can provide some birding ID guides, but consider bringing your own favorite birding supplies. This could include scopes, binoculars, audio devices, or more.
